MESSAGES FROM FATHER JIM

In your prayers kindly remember the sick and those who care for them, the lonely, the handicapped, those isolated, and those who have died.

INTRODUCTION TO THE LITURGY – Deliverance through the Cross: Only the exodus from Egypt was more strongly emblazoned on the Israelite Psyche than the return to Jerusalem after the exile. The chronicler retells this latter story of deliverance today. Christ in John’s gospel speaks of another deliverance, the one made possible through his own being” lifted up” on the cross. The passage from Ephesians is forceful reminder that deliverance is due entirely to God’s love. We are favored and did nothing to merit it.

FROM THE RECTOR’S DESKYou are to be commended for your continuing faithful participation in daily Mass during this time of Lent. Keep up the good work.

Urgent Matter from Bishop’s Desk You will find attached to this bulletin a letter from Bishop Guy requesting for your urgent support to reject Bill C-7. Proposal letter to be sent to your local MPP. If you prefer to send your MPP a letter by mail, you can use the sample letter that is also attached or compose one yourself. All letter must be sent before March 25, 2021. Your prompt attention to this urgent matter is greatly appreciated.

HOLY NAME PARISH OFFICE ASSISTANCE NEEDED

The current Holy Name Parish Office secretary, Suzanne Sheridan, has been waiting for some time for full knee-replacement surgery.  The first knee-replacement surgery has now been scheduled for Monday, May 03rd in Pembroke.  As a result, the Holy Name Parish Office will require a replacement secretary during Suzanne’s recovery period, which to our knowledge could be a minimum of approximately six (6) weeks.  This will be confirmed at a later date. If anyone is interested in filling in during this time, or have any questions, please contact the Parish Office as soon as possible at 613-732-3355, email holynamepembroke@outlook.com.  A training/familiarization period prior to May 03rd will also be required.  Thank you for your support.

Novena to St. Joseph -Day 4

Saint Joseph, Pride of Heaven, unfailing hope for our lives, and support of those on earth, graciously accept our prayer of praise. You were appointed spouse of the chaste Virgin by the Creator of the world. He willed that you be called “father” of the World and serve as agent of our salvation. May the triune God who bestowed upon you heavenly honors, be praised forever. And may He grant us through your merits the joy of a blessed life and a favorable answer to our petition. (State your request here. Suggested Intention “For Missionaries”)

Amen.

St Joseph Pray for us!
