Bulletin Announcements are due to the Parish office before 11:00 a.m. on the Monday before publication. Please call the parish office to submit an announcement.

MESSAGES FROM FATHER JIM

In your prayers kindly remember the sick and those who care for them, the lonely, the handicapped, those isolated, and those who have died especially Margaret Carroll & Parnell Green, Agnes Mask.

INTRODUCTION TO THE LITURGY – The Call of Discipleship: Universal and Urgent The account of the call of the first disciples is found in all of the Gospels. The Matthean version, strikingly similar to that of Mark (one of Matthew’s principal sources) appears on the same Sunday in the A cycle. Today the church couples the account with part of Jonah story, which contains one of the Bible’s strongest Universalist themes. Thus the liturgy contains a sense of urgency as well as the note of salvation extended to all people. Mark’s gospel will be read during the Year B cycle. Paul’s expectation of the parausia finds him appealing to the Corinthians to remain alert and single minded.

Notice from the Rectors Desk – Since Premier Ford announced the lockdown, in light of this, Fr. Jim will continue with weekend and daily masses and since only 10 people can be present in the church for mass including the priest, parishioners may stay in their cars in the church parking lot and tune in at 88.1 radio station and Fr. Jim will gladly come out and give communion as you stay in the comfort of your car.
