MESSAGES FROM FATHER JIM

In your prayers kindly remember the sick and those who care for them, the lonely, the handicapped, those isolated, and those who have died, especially Faye Neville, Gwendolyn Dumouchel, Pamela Brumsey, Dwade Lavallie, Susan Halley and Julie Hiltz.

FROM THE RECTOR’S DESK – Theme: Wise and Vigilant – Wisdom is different than knowledge. Wisdom orders what is known toward determined end. In the bible, that end is God alone. In today’s first reading, personified wisdom comes to those who are morally attuned and prepared to receive her. Matthews’s parable of expectant virgins points to wisdom’s lying in preparedness. On another issue, Paul today considers the fate of those who die before the Lord’s return.

This Wednesday November 11th, we observe Remembrance Day. We gather in silent prayer to remember those who died in war and to pray for the many victims of aggression and inhumanity throughout the world. It is a day to pray for peace and to consider what we are doing as individuals, as a community and as a nation, to bring God’s peace into the world. It is time for us to offer prayful support for our soldiers, serving the cause of peace throughout the world, and for their families anxiously awaiting for their return. It is also a day for us as a believing community, to rededicate ourselves by prayer and action to the ideals Jesus gives us in the beatitudes.

HAVE A SAFE AND BLESSED WEEK!

Your offering for Sunday, November 1st was $3,652.

A sincere thank you for your weekly donations during the COVID 19 pandemic. Your generosity is gratefully appreciated.
