MESSAGES FROM FATHER JIM

In your prayers kindly remember the sick and those who care for them, the lonely, the handicapped, those isolated, and those who have died, especially Fr. Robert D. Pelton, Margaret Leeck, Sheila Shultz, Donald Pagnutti, Jacqueline Glysinskie and Laura Tomasini.

FROM THE RECTOR’S DESK – Love: Summary of the Christian Life: The law of the covenant (Ex 19 – 24), Israel’s oldest law code, shows a marked respect for disadvantaged Israelites and resident non-Israelites. It calls for equity in personal dealings. This is reflected in today’s reading. Jesus, who came to bring the covenant law to perfection, goes beyond fair treatment in joining two passages from Hebrew scriptures and placing love at the summit of religious belief. In a move that will forever characterize Christianity, he links indissolubly love of God and love of neighbor. In the reading from 1 Thessalonians, Paul speaks of modeling the faith. He was a model to the Thessalonians community and they, in turn, to other believers.

HAVE A SAFE AND BLESSED WEEK!

Your offering for Sunday, October 18th was $4,100.00. Evangelization collection $490.25.

A sincere thank you for your weekly donations during the COVID 19 pandemic. Your generosity is gratefully appreciated.

Thanksgiving Prayer

Oh Lord teach me to love Thee as Thou hast loved me.

Teach me O God to know and understand that all that I have comes from Thee.

My God teach me to show my gratitude to Thee for Thy precious gifts.

My father in Heaven as Thou has sent Thy Son to me, send also Thy holy spirit to enkindle the fire of Thy love in my heart;

So that, I, too, will give to others as Thou hast given to me.
