MESSAGES FROM FATHER JIM

Welcome back to St. Columbkille’s Cathedral and our regularly scheduled masses.

In your prayers kindly remember the sick and those who care for them, the lonely, the handicapped, those isolated, and those who have died.

THEME FOR September 6th – Admonition.  God’s word this week speaks of our Christian responsibility to be willing to correct our brothers and sisters when the need arises.  Ezekiel speaks of admonition in terms of the prophetic ministry wherein it was not infrequently demanded.  The gospel today speaks of the procedure to be followed in the Christian community in dealing with the unrepentant offender. The gospel also speaks of community prayer.  The second reading from Romans, highlights love as the summary and epitome of all the commandments.  While not directly related to the other readings, it nonetheless offers the basis for understanding the why of Christian admonition.

HAVE A SAFE AND BLESSED WEEK!

Your offering for Sunday, August 16th was $4,650.00
A sincere thank you for your weekly donations during the COVID 19 pandemic. Your generosity is gratefully appreciated.

Through their review, teens can lend their voice to the world of Catholic publishing, and will earn a certificate that can be used towards high school volunteer hours, resumes, etc. If you have a teen who loves reading or wants to engage in the world of writing and publishing, contact Sister Orianne Dyck (odyck@paulinemedia.com) for more information for further details regarding the program and registration.
