MESSAGES FROM FATHER JIM

In your prayers kindly remember the sick and those who care for them, the lonely, the handicapped, those isolated, and those who have died.

IN MEMORIAM – Alton McKibbon

INTRODUCTION TO THE LITURGY – Theme: The Right to Stay or to Leave – Forced love is no love at all. Since God wants a free response from us, our liberty is never violated. Once settled in the land of promise. Joshua gathers the Israelites at Shechem to renew the covenant and express their intention of remaining with Yahweh or not. At the conclusion of his bread of life discourse, Jesus in John’s gospel ask his disciples a similar question: Do they wish to stay with him or to leave? In our reading from Ephesians today, husbands and wives are a living reflection of the love between Christ and the Church.

From the Rector’s Desk A Prayer for Strength in this challenging time

We pray for your love and compassion to abound
as we walk through this challenging season.

We ask for wisdom for those who bear the load
of making decisions with widespread consequences.

We pray for those who are suffering with sickness
and all who are caring for them.

We ask for protection for the elderly and vulnerable
to not succumb to the risks of the virus.

We pray for misinformation to be curbed
that fear may take no hold in hearts and minds.

As we exercise the good sense that you in your mercy provide,
may we also approach each day in faith and peace,
trusting in the truth of your goodness towards us.

HAVE A BLESSED AND BLESSED WEEK!
