MESSAGE FROM FATHER JIM
Welcome back to St. Columbkille’s Cathedral and our regularly scheduled masses.
In your prayers kindly remember the sick and those who care for them, the lonely, the handicapped, those isolated, and those who have died especially Christine Graham, John Stunt and Molly Van Bavel.
Theme for August 2nd – Theme: Today, Second Isaiah tells the returning exiles that if Yahweh is truly the center of their lives, their aspirations will be fulfilled and their needs met. That Matthean account of the loaves finds Jesus in a desert place with a hungry crowd. His response to the physical hunger of the crowd in a more than ample fashion suggests the eucharist where the Lord continues to feed his people. Paul finishes the eighth chapter of Romans with a burst of song in praise of Christ who has loved us with such force that it eliminates any obstacle.
First Friday Adoration – we will have a mass only for the First Friday on August 7th. Due to Covid 19 restrictions and the safety of all, there cannot be adoration.
