MESSAGE FROM FATHER JIM

Welcome back to St. Columbkille’s Cathedral and our regularly scheduled masses.

In your prayers kindly remember the sick and those who care for them, the lonely, the handicapped, those isolated, and those who have died especially Marena Laverdure and Paul Vaillancourt.

Theme for July 16th  – The Patient Judge.  Wisdom today speaks of a God who judges justly, and, if the scales are tipped in any direction, it is on the side of leniency.  In a series of parables, the Matthean Jesus draws again on the world of nature in pointing up the quite imperfect state of God’s reign in its present existence.  With considerable patience, God offers more than ample opportunity for conversion. In the reading from Romans, we are told not to worry about the perfect prayer.  The Spirit, praying with us, compensates for our deficiencies.

A sincere thank you for your weekly donations during the COVID 19 pandemic. Your donations are gratefully appreciated.
